Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Unit Secretary to support the nursing unit and ensure seamless patient care in a community-focused environment. You will deliver vital clerical support and serve as a friendly resource for patients, families, staff, and visitors.

Your coordination will boost unit efficiency and contribute to safe, high-quality patient care within a growing national inpatient rehabilitation leader.

Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred.
• One year of inpatient unit secretary experience preferred.
• Active enrollment in a healthcare program (such as nursing) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate medical records for patients using labeling system.
• Accurately transcribe medical orders and distribute to other disciplines as needed.
• Coordinate unit operations to optimize safe patient care delivery.
• Schedule tests, appointments and transportation as needed in a timely manner.
• Serve as a liaison for inquiries, directing them to the appropriate person for resolution.
