Encompass Health is seeking a Unit Secretary to support the nursing unit and ensure seamless patient care in a community-focused environment. You will provide vital clerical support, assist patients and families, and help keep the unit running smoothly.

The role emphasizes accuracy in medical records, order transcription, and coordinated scheduling to deliver safe, high-quality care within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred.
• One year of inpatient unit secretary experience preferred.
• Active enrollment in a healthcare program (such as nursing) preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and transcribing orders is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Maintain complete and accurate medical records using appropriate labeling.
• Transcribe medical orders accurately and distribute to other disciplines.
• Act as a helpful resource for patients, families, physicians, and visitors.
• Coordinate unit operations to optimize safe patient care.
• Schedule tests, appointments and transportation as needed.
• Serve as a liaison for inquiries and route them to the right person.
