Job Description: Unit Manager (RN)

We rely on and trust our Unit Manager (RN) to provide independent supervision of the delivery of care to a group of residents in a nursing unit. Responsibilities include assessing resident needs, developing individual care plans, administering nursing care, and evaluating nursing care. The Unit Manager supervises Nurses, Care Specialists (CNA), and other personnel, and may supervise other Nurses, including other RNs.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective, quality nursing care focused on outcomes through utilization of the nursing process. Identify needs and contribute to discharge planning and follow-up throughout the resident's stay.
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, responsible parties, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Implement care plans consistently, effectively, and cost-efficiently, focusing on resident-centered outcomes, utilizing all appropriate resources for counseling and discharge planning. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals by sharing relevant information about changing care plans.
• Deliver and maintain optimal resident care and comfort by demonstrating current nursing knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the practicing state.
• Current CPR certification; licensed nursing staff must obtain CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Recent clinical experience, education, or specialty skills specific to geriatrics.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance.
