Job summary

JLL in Milpitas, CA is seeking a Stationary Engineer to operate, maintain, and repair building mechanical systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC, and related infrastructure for safe, efficient operation. This is a union-based role where candidates must be part of the local union or willing to join.

The position requires 3–5 years of experience, knowledge of building automation, and the ability to read blueprints and technical manuals. Schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 10 PM to 6:30 AM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience operating building mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of boiler operations, HVAC systems, and building automation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors building mechanical systems including high-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, pumps, and related equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance on all mechanical systems according to established schedules and manufacturer specifications.
• Responds to emergency situations including equipment failures, alarms, and system malfunctions; coordinates with contractors as needed.
• Maintains logs and documents system performance and energy usage; identifies efficiency improvements.
