Loyola Medicine is seeking a Stationary Engineer for night shift to operate and maintain hospital steam boilers, HVAC systems, and medical gas/vac systems. The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, documentation, and safe, compliant operation within policy guidelines.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus formal trade school or apprenticeship training and 2–3 years of experience; a boiler training and Chicago Stationary Engineer license are desirable.

Competenze

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Formal trade school or apprenticeship education or equivalent experience to an associate degree level.
• Two to three years of experience to acquire advanced knowledge of hospital steam plant equipment and related machinery.
• Training on boilers is desired.
• Licensed by the City of Chicago as a Stationary Engineer.

Mansioni

• Operates and maintains all steam boilers, air-conditioning systems and HVAC support equipment; troubleshoot and facilitate repairs to maintain space conditions.
• Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment without supervision.
• Performs routine maintenance on HVAC equipment; logs operating conditions and documents actions.
• Maintains comfort levels in facility; operates equipment within policy guidelines for temperature and humidity.
• Operates and maintains medical gas and vac. systems within guidelines.
• Cleans equipment and work area to provide a safe/clean environment.
• Interacts with staff professionally and communicates effectively, sharing information and taking responsibility for equipment.
