Job summary

SSA Conventional, Inc in Tacoma is seeking an Operations Labor Manager to oversee union labor, ensure safe and cost-effective use of resources, and manage labor relations across terminals.

You will coordinate with foremen, interpret CBAs, and drive productivity while meeting operational requirements. A college degree is preferred or equivalent experience in Operations Management, with demonstrated leadership and TWIC eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing related union labor.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in terminal operations, cargo stowage and stability, and local union dispatching rules.
• College degree preferred, or equivalent experience in Operations Management or related field.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Familiarity with computerized terminal operating systems.
• Knowledge of safety and accident-prevention codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise union labor personnel, including foremen and supervisory clerks.
• Direct work assignments based on operational needs and workforce availability.
• Interpret and enforce CBAs in daily operations.
• Investigate workplace incidents, safety violations and labor complaints; report and escalate as needed.
