SSA Conventional, Inc. is seeking a Part-time Operations Labor Manager in Long Beach, CA to direct union labor and oversee daily operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of bargaining agreements, and the ability to coordinate foremen and staff across shifts while maintaining compliance and productive performance. You will collaborate with terminal teams, manage incident investigations, and ensure payroll/safety reporting

Qualifications

• 3 years managing union labor in a comparable environment.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain TWIC card.
• Current CPR certification.
• Working knowledge of terminal operations, cargo stowage and local union dispatching rules.
• Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and their interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hiring, assignment, evaluation, discipline, and termination of labor staff per policy.
• Direct foremen and supervisors based on requirements and workforce availability.
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and company policies.
• Investigate workplace incidents, safety violations, and labor complaints; report to management.
• Plan workforce and equipment to execute operations safely and within budget.
• Monitor productivity and enforce safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
