Job summary

SSA Marine seeks a Part-time Operations Labor Manager to direct and coordinate union labor, equipment, and resources for safe, efficient operations. The role exercises independent judgment and reports to company leadership on safety, productivity, and labor relations across multiple terminals.

Responsibilities include workforce management, planning and execution, compliance with regulations, and coordinating with vessel personnel, customers, and terminal staff to meet operational commitments.

• Requires leadership of a large, diverse labor force in a fast-paced setting.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and problem-solving under time pressure.
• Ability to plan and coordinate work across shifts and hours.
• Strong communication with union workforce, management, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Directs hiring, assignment, evaluation, discipline, and termination of labor personnel per policy and agreements.
• Directs and assigns work of foremen, clerks, and other staff based on requirements.
• Interprets and enforces collective bargaining agreements in daily operations.
• Investigates incidents, safety violations, and labor complaints; reports to senior management.
