Job summary

SSA Marine in Port Hueneme seeks an Operations Labor Manager to lead and coordinate union labor, equipment, and staff for safe, efficient operations. You will exercise independent judgment and manage labor personnel in line with company policy and CBAs.

Responsibilities include directing foremen and staff, enforcing agreements, and ensuring safety, productivity, and accurate reporting. The role requires strong leadership and the ability to work across shifts and departments in a demanding port

Qualifications

• Direct a large, diverse union workforce in a fast-paced environment.
• Interpret and enforce collective bargaining agreements in day-to-day ops.
• Coordinate with management, union reps, and operations to optimize staffing and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Direct hiring, assignment, evaluation, discipline, and termination of labor personnel per policy and agreements.
• Plan and deploy labor and equipment to meet operational requirements within budget and schedule.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and proper PPE usage across shifts.
• Coordinate with vessel personnel, customers, and terminal staff; ensure timely reporting and data accuracy.
