The role requires independence in managing labor personnel, directing foremen and staff, and enforcing collective bargaining agreements while safeguarding safety and productivity in a dynamic port environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; management experience valued.
• Preferably 3 years managing union labor.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain TWIC.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience with labor and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Hire, assign, evaluate, discipline, and terminate assigned labor personnel.
• Directs and assigns work of foremen and other operational staff.
• Interpret and enforce collective bargaining agreements.
• Investigate workplace incidents and safety violations.
• Prepare reports and escalate to senior management.
• Plan workforce composition and equipment needs.
• Monitor productivity and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and PPE.
