State of Wyoming is seeking an Administrative Hearing Officer – Unemployment Appeals in Casper to conduct impartial hearings and issue written decisions. You will evaluate testimony, analyze evidence, and apply Wyoming laws to determine outcomes in unemployment appeals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business is required.
• 0-3 years of progressive work experience in business; or 4-6 years with substitution.
• Experience in legal support, administrative hearings, investigations, or compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Administrative Hearings: lead fair unemployment insurance appeal hearings by phone or in person.
• Evaluate Evidence and Testimony: review case files and documents to determine findings.
• Research and Apply Laws: interpret Wyoming statutes and rules relevant to appeals.
• Prepare Written Decisions: draft clear, legally sound decisions with findings and reasoning.
• Review Complex Employment Issues: assess eligibility, wage disputes, employer taxes, and worker classification.
• Manage Cases and Deadlines: organize schedules, documentation, and decisions while meeting deadlines.
• Maintain Professionalism and Impartiality: ensure respectful hearings and confidentiality.
• Collaborate and Continuously Improve: work with colleagues and participate in training.
