Job summary

Department of Labor in Connecticut is seeking an Adjudicator to determine unemployment eligibility and issue decisions on non-monetary issues. You will handle follow-up calls, rebuttals, and provide guidance on appeals.

The role includes processing mail, faxes, and electronic documents in ReEmployCT and coordinating with other UI units. The position requires strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, plus analytical skills and the ability to lead teams and manage complex case files.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of technical level experience in counseling, employment placement, veterans employment and training support services, public contact work, human service programs, job service, unemployment insurance or employment and training functions.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and policy within unemployment insurance and employment services.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate one-party cases to determine unemployment eligibility in accordance with regulations and statutes.
• Write and issue decisions on non-monetary eligibility issues based on adjudications findings.
• Advise claimants of rights regarding appeals and provide assistance in filing appeals.
• Field incoming calls from claimants and employers to answer questions related to Adjudications.
• Open mail and faxes and upload documents into ReEmployCT; respond to emails from other UI units.
