The role emphasizes adherence to carrier guidelines, strategic risk assessment, and supporting system improvements while maintaining high service levels.

The position requires strong leadership, significant underwriting experience (notably in wildfire risk), and a Florida- or California-licensed background.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of California homeowners underwriting experience.
• Wildfire risk assessment and management expertise.
• Florida 2-20 General Lines license or equivalent required by residence state.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Underwriting Manager to meet new business production and profitability goals.
• Develop and maintain Orchid Underwriting service standards and best practices.
• Ensure underwriting activities follow carrier guidelines and internal best practices.
• Lead an underwriting team in service, quality, and production.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate system improvements.
• Set measurable production and quality goals for new, renewal and inspection underwriting.
• Provide phone/chat coverage to meet client service levels and monitor SLA performance.
• Collaborate with Senior Leadership, Programs, and Sales/Marketing to achieve business objectives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce expenses.
• Share market knowledge to support product and pricing strategies.
• Mentor teammates and foster professional development.
