Job summary

Orchid Insurance, an Arrowhead Intermediaries company, seeks an Underwriting Supervisor to join our growing team. The role oversees underwriting activities, guides complex risk decisions, and supports training and process improvements.

The position requires coordinating with leadership to drive production, maintain service standards, and ensure adherence to carrier guidelines while fostering a collaborative, growth‑oriented team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of California homeowners underwriting experience with wildfire risk assessment and management.
• Experience underwriting High Value Homes within the Surplus Lines market is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in all aspects of underwriting, including new business, renewals, and the integration of inspection findings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Underwriting Manager to meet new business production, retention, and profitability goals.
• Assist in developing Orchid Underwriting service standards and best practices.
• Lead an Underwriting team in service, quality, and production.
• Support UAT and system improvements to meet operational needs.
• Set and measure production and quality goals for new and renewal underwriting.
• Provide phone/chat coverage to meet client service levels.
