Olympus Insurance Company is seeking underwriting professionals for multiple levels in the Florida homeowner market. You will evaluate high-value properties, collaborate with agency partners, and make thoughtful underwriting decisions balancing growth and service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Personal Lines underwriting experience or 3–5 years in underwriting or agency operations for consideration at the Risk Solution Advisor level.
• Experience underwriting in Florida, California, Texas or New York preferred.
• Strong understanding of property insurance, risk selection, underwriting guidelines and coverage considerations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make thoughtful underwriting decisions.
• College degree or P&C license a plus.

Responsabilités

• Review new business, renewals, and quote exceptions to evaluate eligibility, risk exposure, profitability, and alignment with guidelines.
• Assess high-value properties using inspections, Home Resilience Assessments, floor plans and other information to support coverage and risk mitigation decisions.
• Evaluate property changes, claims activity, and other risk factors to determine appropriate actions.
• At Senior level, evaluate complex, multi-state and out-of-guideline risks requiring advanced underwriting judgment.
• Build partnerships with agency partners, claims, sales and other teams to provide underwriting support.
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly while helping resolve policy questions and concerns.
• Deliver seamless, White Glove service for clients and agency partners throughout the policy lifecycle.
• Contribute to special projects and catastrophe response efforts as needed.

What You'll Do

Join our growing Olympus One Underwriting team! We’re hiring across multiple levels, with opportunities for both Underwriters and Senior Underwriters supporting our West Coast business.

In this role, you'll help evaluate unique and high-value properties, collaborate with agency partners and teams across Olympus, and make thoughtful underwriting decisions that balance responsible growth, profitability, and exceptional service.

The position level will be determined based on your experience, skills, and underwriting knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Make Thoughtful Underwriting Decisions

• Review new business, renewals, and quote exceptions to evaluate eligibility, risk exposure, profitability, and alignment with underwriting guidelines.
• Assess high-value properties using inspections, Home Resilience Assessments, floor plans, and other property information to support coverage and risk mitigation decisions.
• Evaluate property changes, claims activity, and other risk factors to determine appropriate underwriting actions.
• At the Senior level, evaluate complex, multi-state, and out-of-guideline risks requiring advanced underwriting judgment.

Build Strong Partnerships

• Collaborate with One Consultants, agency partners, Claims, Sales, and other teams to provide responsive, personalized underwriting support.
• Communicate underwriting decisions and requirements clearly while helping resolve policy questions and concerns.
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource to colleagues and partners, sharing guidance on complex risks and underwriting decisions.

Deliver Exceptional Service

• Support policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements while maintaining accuracy and service standards.
• Maintain thorough documentation and ensure underwriting decisions reflect current guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Help create a seamless, White Glove experience for clients and agency partners throughout the policy lifecycle.
• Participate in initiatives that strengthen underwriting processes, home resilience, and loss mitigation solutions.
• Contribute to special projects, agency events, and catastrophe response efforts as needed.

What You'll Bring

• Experience in Personal Lines underwriting or insurance agency operations, with the position level determined by your experience and technical knowledge.
• 2+ years of recent Personal Lines underwriting experience or 3-5 years of underwriting or agency operations experience for consideration at the Risk Solution Advisor level.
• Experience underwriting in Florida, California, Texas, or New York is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of property insurance, risk selection, underwriting guidelines, and coverage considerations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative, service-focused approach with the ability to build trusted relationships with agency partners and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, evaluate detailed information, and make thoughtful underwriting decisions.
• College degree, Property & Casualty license, or professional insurance designations are a plus.
• Experience with high-value homeowners, coastal properties, custom-built residences, or home resilience and loss mitigation services is preferred.
