Job summary

Leidos’ Undersea Systems Division seeks a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor in San Diego, CA to lead an R&D team focused on underwater vehicle systems, sensors, and ISR solutions for NIWC Pacific. You will integrate payloads into vehicles, conduct testing, and interface with DoD stakeholders on fast-paced programs.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, CAD tool proficiency, and the ability to supervise staff, with a SECRET clearance and on-site 9/80B schedule at NIWC Pacific.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Cad tools experience with SolidWorks or SolidEdge is preferred.
• Experience with machining tools and a marine environment is required.
• Ability to supervise 1+ personnel and perform HR duties for direct reports.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop sensor payloads for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles.
• Develop tools to aid with sensor production and testing.
• Design and manage the manufacturing of waterproof housings for sensors and electronics.
• Conduct at-sea operational and survivability testing.
• Create and manage CAD models of components and assemblies.
• Configuration management of mechanical systems and assembly procedures.
• Supervise 1+ personnel and provide mentoring and career guidance.
