Job summary

Leidos’ Undersea Systems Division in San Diego seeks a Project Manager to lead a fast-paced R&D engineering group, overseeing acceptance, testing, and certification of unmanned maritime vehicles for NIWC PAC. The role bridges the vehicle R&D and production teams, directing technicians and ensuring government testing requirements are met.

A Top Secret clearance is required; the work uses a 9/80B schedule with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Experience leading small teams and programs.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with NIWC SMEs to review vehicle data and address issues.
• Support FATs, performance testing, and certification checks.
• Manage Master Production Schedule and baselines.
• Liaise with industry partners on schedules and resources.
• Provide risk updates to NIWC leadership (PM, DPM, LSE).
• Oversee vehicle configuration to meet sponsor requirements.
• Maintain vehicle readiness reports and track issues.
• Manage lab space, inventory, and procurement.
• Ensure QA and CM programs are implemented.
