Job summary

Ella SA Contracting is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the planning and execution of underground utility construction projects in Texas. You will coordinate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Foreman to keep field operations on schedule, maintain project records, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication across office and field, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication skills for both office and field coordination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Willingness to work in both office and outdoor job site environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in project planning and coordinate daily/weekly work plans with field teams.
• Track field costs, update spreadsheets, manage PO logs, and support invoice reconciliation.
• Support 3-week look-ahead in collaboration with foreman and superintendent, review daily crew activities.
• Coordinate equipment needs, assist with crew logistics, execute and coordinate material orders and on-time site delivery.
• Work directly with Foreman and Superintendent on daily needs, material runs, and delivery coordination.
• Create and maintain 811 dig tickets; track permit expirations and renewals, inspections, and utility locates.
• Track inspections, maintain as-builts, logs test results, and ensure documentation is complete.
• Promote daily safety practices in the field, identify hazards, and communicate issues to leadership.
• Track field issues (utility conflicts, access problems), assist in RFIs, maintain logs, and escalate concerns.
• Assist with coordinating subcontractor schedules, site access, and daily activities.
• Maintain as-built drawings, submittals, daily reports, and project records.
• Reconcile material orders against executed POs versus on-site material and maintain inventory logs.
• Track daily production (footage, installs), update reports, and communicate progress.
• Schedule meetings, prepares minutes, updates logs, and manages communication flow.
