Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Trainer at its Carlin operations to develop and implement safety training programs, maintain compliance, and support competency-based learning across the site.

The role emphasizes collaboration with diverse stakeholders, rigorous record keeping, and delivering engaging training to ensure every employee returns home safely. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of mining/construction/heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Experience working with peer groups and focus teams is required.
• Strong ability to drive results and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven safe work record required.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership and influencing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs for competency.
• Maintain site compliance and ensure employees have needed skills.
• Create and maintain training records per MSHA regulations.
• Conduct observations with operating departments.
• Create training courses based on site needs and goals.
• Develop teaching outlines and instructional methods.
• Assist in standardizing divisional procedures and task observations.
• Audit and review training courses for continuous improvement.
• Support implementation of a Competency Based Training system.
• Track task training and planned observations.
• Maintain document control and training records.
• Plan and schedule Annual Refresher Training.
• Facilitate new miner, experienced miner, hazard, site, and task training.
• Align with site initiatives and mandates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
