Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Trainer for Cortez operations to develop and deliver competency-based training, ensure safe practices, and maintain training records in compliance with MSHA regulations.

You will collaborate with mining and operations teams to tailor courses, observe performance, and drive continuous improvement while promoting safety, health, and environmental standards across the site.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in mining, construction or heavy equipment industry preferred.
• Proven experience in working with peer groups and focus teams required.
• Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others required.
• Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example required.
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook preferred.
• Proven safe work record required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing training programs for competency.
• Maintain site compliance to ensure safe and skilled employees.
• Create and maintain accurate training records per MSHA.
• Conduct observations with operating departments.
• Create training courses based on site needs.
• Develop teaching outlines and instructional methods.
• Commitment to safety, health, and training.
• Assist standardization of procedures and task observations.
• Audit and review training courses for improvement.
• Support Competency Based Training implementation.
• Track task training and planned observations.
• Maintain document control and training records.
• Plan and schedule Annual Refresher Training.
• Facilitate new miner, experienced miner, hazard, site and task training.
• Participate in aligning site initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
