Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited is hiring for a Mine Control Operator at the Pogo Mine in Alaska on a 28/14 rotating schedule, 12-hour shifts. The role focuses on communication, coordination and recording of personnel and equipment status within the underground operation, with direct reporting to the Underground General Foreman.

You will monitor ventilation, water inflows, and relay production and safety information to shift supervisors while coordinating gear movement and ensuring accurate

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in an underground mining environment.
• Knowledge of radio communications, using multiple channels.
• Experience in dispatching or logistics is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to changing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control ventilation fans and mine water inflows according to site procedures.
• Continually communicate with shift supervisors regarding production and safety.
• Communicate assignments to operators as directed by shift supervisors.
• Ensure all equipment movements and logs (operator, machine, location, tonnes) are recorded.
• Coordinate gear movement between mining and maintenance crews to minimize idle time.
