Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Class B Lineman Underground to safely build and repair underground distribution systems. You will work on energized and de-energized lines, travel to multiple sites including out-of-state where needed, and report to the Foreman.

The role requires 3 years of underground experience, a valid CDL, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work overtime, outages, and emergencies in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of underground line experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.
• Work for extended periods at various job locations, including out-of-state assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de-energized underground distribution systems with safety as priority.
• Install and repair underground facilities and conductors, including fault locating on primary and secondary systems.
• Understand switching and tagging procedures, grounding and induced voltage on energized and de-energized lines using proper tools and test equipment.
• Obtain a one shot on a reclosing device when required.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and in proximity to energized equipment.
• Operate and maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling equipment).
• Perform live-line work using PPE and insulated sticks for testing voltage and switching.
