Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Class B Lineman Underground to construct and repair underground distribution systems, often on energized or de‑energized lines. The role requires travel to multiple job sites, including out‑of‑state locations, with duties reported to a Foreman.

Responsibilities cover live‑line work, excavation operation, and adherence to safety protocols. The position demands endurance for long hours and varying weather, plus on‑call rotations to support outages and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of recent underground line experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work out‑of‑state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergencies and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems with safety first.
• Install and repair underground facilities and conductors; troubleshoot and fault locate on primary and secondary systems.
• Comply with switching, tagging, grounding and induced voltage procedures using appropriate tools.
• Understand when to obtain a one shot on a reclosing device.
• Work in confined spaces near energized equipment.
• Operate and maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling equipment).
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and be available for outages and on‑call rotations.
• Perform live‑line work using PPE and insulated sticks for testing voltage and switching.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE and insulated protective gear.
