Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking an UGE Operator to operate underground conduit and related equipment for utility installations. The role supports the Line team and collaborates with department personnel.

The candidate will perform equipment safety checks, assist as needed, and work around live utilities while following MasTec safety standards. Training and career growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• 2+ years of experience.
• OSHA 10 Certification.
• CDL Class A driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate jobsite equipment safely, such as mobile cranes, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and other construction equipment.
• Perform service, safety checks, and minor repairs on machines, check oil and fluids.
• Inspect work area to ensure it has been staked/located prior to digging.
• Work with maintenance crew or assist as laborer when not operating equipment.
• Dig around all live utilities, both underground and overhead.
• Train, guide, or oversee work of lower graded operators and laborers when needed.
• Comply with safety standards/procedures and MasTec/customer requirements.
• Load trucks safely and efficiently.
• Support operations to improve efficiency and customer service.
• Perform other duties as required.
