Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking an Underground/UGE Operator to install underground conduit, cables, transformers, and switchgear for customers. The role supports the Line team in a field environment, ensuring safety and efficiency on every job.

You will operate equipment, perform routine checks, and assist with maintenance. The position requires at least a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license, with OSHA-10 preferred. MasTec offers comprehensive benefits and career opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• OSHA 10 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely on job sites, including cranes, excavators, and loaders.
• Perform basic service checks and minor repairs; monitor oil and fluids.
• Inspect work area to ensure staking/locating before digging.
• Assist maintenance crew as needed and support the line team.
• Dig around live utilities; follow safety standards.
• Supervise lower graded operators and laborers when needed.
• Load trucks safely and maintain productivity and quality.
