Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a UGE Operator to install underground conduit, cables, transformers, and switchgear colors for customers. This role supports the Line team and collaborates with department staff.

Required: high school diploma, 1 year of relevant experience, and valid driver’s license. Preferred: 2+ years, OSHA 10, and CDL Class A. This field role involves outdoor work with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate field equipment safely, including cranes, bulldozers, loaders, excavators, and more.
• Perform service checks, inspections, and minor repairs on machines.
• Ensure work area is staked/located before digging.
• Assist maintenance crew or laborers when not operating equipment.
• Dig around live utilities (underground and overhead).
• Train and oversee lower-grade operators and laborers when needed.
