Job summary

MasTec Utility Services in the United States is seeking an UGE Operator to operate machines for installing underground conduit, cables, transformers and related gear in field environments. You will support the Line team, perform safety checks, and ensure compliance with MasTec or customer standards.

Minimum 1 year experience and a high school diploma preferred; OSHA 10 and CDL Class A are valued. This position requires physical stamina, ability to work outdoors in all weather, and a commitment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• 2+ years of experience (preferred).
• OSHA 10 Certification (preferred).
• CDL Class A driver's license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate jobsite equipment safely, such as mobile cranes, bulldozers, excavators, and other construction equipment.
• Perform service, safety checks, and minor repairs on machines, check oil and fluids.
• Inspect work area to ensure it has been staked/located prior to digging.
• Work with maintenance crew or assist as laborer when not operating equipment.
• Dig around all live utilities, both underground and overhead.
• Train, guide, or oversee work of lower graded operators and laborers when needed.
• Comply with safety standards/procedures according to MasTec or the customer.
• Load trucks in a safe and accident-free manner.
• Improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and provide quality service.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
