Job summary

Atkinson Construction seeks a Project Engineer to provide scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and general project administration for heavy civil construction projects in the U.S. You will work alongside project managers and superintendents to oversee sections of the project.

The role requires an undergraduate degree in engineering or construction management and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant commercial/heavy civil construction project experience.
• Strong initiative, independence, and integrity; able to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and project administration.
• Support safety culture and participate in daily/weekly site meetings and inspections.
• Maintain relationships with craft personnel, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and the project team.
• Assist in tracking quantities, budgets, forecasts, and reporting; review invoices and pay subs/vendors timely.
