Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Protective Services Officer to support the safety of BSMH facilities. You will patrol, escort, and respond to calls for routine and emergency assistance, coordinating with clinical teams and law enforcement as needed.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license and BLS certification within 6 months of hire; 1–2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred. On-site role with hospital policy enforcement and incident documentation.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required within 6 months of hire).
• High school diploma or GED (required).

Responsibilities

• Protects patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and mitigating environment of care safety hazards.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of all hospital property including parking lots and decks.
• Enforces policies (parking, visitation, drug enforcement, tobacco free/smoking).
• Monitors activity on CCTV to detect escalations requiring protective services involvement.
• Intervenes in patient, visitor and staff confrontations as appropriate.
• Documents duties performed including daily activity logs and incident reports.
