Job summary

AdventHealth Davenport is seeking a skilled ultrasound technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance with provider orders. You will verify patient identity, prepare the exam, and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Collaborating with radiologists and other health professionals, you will document findings in the EMR, follow infection control protocols, and contribute to efficient patient care across all ages.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy to perform independent procedures.
• Proficient in EMR and PACS, with basic computer skills.
• Effective communication with patients across all ages and teams.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness.
• Positions patients and optimizes images and data quality.
• Documents findings in EMR/PACS accurately and timely.
• Educates patients about the exam and ensures comfort and privacy.
• Follows infection control standards and PPE usage.
• Collaborates with radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging and care continuity.
• Maintains equipment, room preparation, and inventory as needed.
• Maintains licenses, registries, and participates in continuing education.
