Job summary

AdventHealth Waterman in Florida seeks an ultrasound technologist to perform and interpret ultrasound procedures, ensuring patient comfort and privacy. You will acquire high-quality images for radiologist interpretation and maintain EMR/PACS documentation while educating patients about each exam.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in hospital ultrasound, detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and Doppler techniques, and strong patient communication.

Qualifications

• Must have detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics, cross-sectional and vascular anatomy, and Doppler techniques to perform independent procedures.
• Proficiency with Radiology software, PACS, and EMR systems.
• Strong patient care and communication skills across all ages; basic English required; additional languages preferred.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Associates degree in diagnostic medical sonography or accredited program; licensure/certification may apply per unit/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort, cooperation and privacy during the exam.
• Acquire and analyze ultrasound images for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and PACS.
• Educate patients about the exam and complete all exams promptly to maintain workflow.
