Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Certified Sonographer to perform general, vascular and cardiac ultrasound studies across two Wisconsin clinics. The role requires reviewing orders, selecting transducers, and ensuring high-quality imaging with attention to patient safety and comfort.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited Sonography program and typically 2 years of experience, ARDMS registrations, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
• Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Sonographer role.
• Proficiency in all general and/or vascular sonographic procedures routinely performed in the hiring department.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, and work collaboratively with staff.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular and/or cardiac studies.
• Differentiates between normal and pathologic findings.
• Reviews patient records and orders to ensure exam accuracy.
• Positions patient and adjusts transducers to obtain optimal images.
• Maintains documentation and charges in the radiology information system.
• Acts as a resource and preceptor for staff and students.
