Job summary

Akumin is a national provider of outpatient radiology services seeking an Ultrasound Technologist. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, follow HIPAA, and ensure quality imaging across locations.

The role requires ARRT(S) or ARDMS certification, 1–2 years of ultrasound experience, and strong patient communication skills. Candidates should hold an associate degree or higher and be able to work at several sites with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Certification: ARRT(S) and/or ARDMS is required.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• CPR/BLS (AHA or ARC); ACLS where applicable.
• 1–2 years ultrasound experience.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service, organizational, multi-tasking and critical thinking skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administer high frequency ultrasound exams as ordered by physician.
• Demonstrate competency across equipment and maintain sterile technique.
• Use EMR, PACS, and DICOM for image sharing and interpretation.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and communicate with patients and radiologists.
• Train and orient new technologists as needed; complete required education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
