Job summary

Akumin seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and ensure high-quality imaging for patient care. The role requires competency with diverse ultrasound equipment, adherence to sterile technique, and strong patient communication skills.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of ultrasound experience, ARRT(S) or ARDMS certification, CPR/BLS, and willingness to work across multiple sites within the Texas region. Join a patient-centered imaging team at Akumin.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
• ARRT(S) and ARDMS certifications required.
• Valid state driver’s license if location mobility is needed.
• CPR Certification (AHA/ARC) or equivalent.
• ACLS certification where applicable.
• 1–2 years ultrasound experience.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer ultrasound exams per physician orders.
• Demonstrate proficiency with ultrasound equipment and sterile technique.
• Maintain quality levels and participate in process improvements.
• Utilize EMR, PACS and DICOM systems for image handling.
• Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists and staff.
• Orient and train new technologists and coordinators as needed.
• Complete site-specific competencies and in-services.
