Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Georgia seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonography professional to perform ultrasound exams across age groups, select the correct protocol, and operate all required equipment. You will follow established imaging guidelines and provide patient education as part of comprehensive care.

Education must include a CAAHEP or ARRT approved program; ARDMS/ARRT registry eligibility is required, with BCLS on hire.

Qualifications

• CAAHEP or ARRT approved diagnostic sonography program.
• ARDMS/ARRT registry eligible required.
• BCLS – Basic Life Support on hire.
• 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound exams on patients of all ages.
• Positions patient, selects protocol and operates equipment.
• Maintains competency in non-scanner components.
• Follows imaging protocols for each exam.
• Adheres to ACR and Piedmont guidelines.
• Provides patient education and communication.
• Engages in quality improvement and ongoing proficiency.

Responsibilities:

What you will do

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients of all age groups.
• Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Follows ACR and Piedmont guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Demonstrates continued quality improvement and proficiency in all required skills.

Qualifications:

Education

• an approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or an approved Sonography Program by the ARRT

Work Experience

• No experience required
• 1 year of experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• ARDMS/ARRT(s) registry eligible required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire required
• ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS), or ARDMS
