Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound procedures across age groups, ensuring proper patient positioning and protocol adherence.

The role requires ARDMS/ARRT registry eligibility, BCLS on hire, and a commitment to ongoing quality and patient education. On-site position with opportunities in a busy imaging department.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (CAAHEP) or ARRT-approved program.
• Work experience: No experience required; 1 year experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: ARDMS/ARRT registry eligible required; BCLS upon hire; ARDMS BS/ARRT routes for Breast Ultrasound may apply.

• Demonstrates competence in performing all diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients of all ages.
• Positions patient, selects protocol, and uses required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in non-scanner components.
• Follows imaging protocols and ACR/Piedmont guidelines.
• Provides patient education and communication per standards.
• Shows continued quality improvement and proficiency in required skills.
• Ensures high-quality age-appropriate care.

Responsibilities

What you will do

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients of all age groups.
• Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Follows ACR and Piedmont guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Demonstrates continued quality improvement and proficiency in all required skills.

Qualifications

Education

• an approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or an approved Sonography Program by the ARRT

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire required
