Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound procedures across age groups, correctly position patients, select protocols, and operate all required equipment. You will follow ACR and Piedmont guidelines and deliver high-quality, age-appropriate care with patient education as part of the team.

Experience is not required, though 1 year is preferred; ARDMS/ARRT registry eligibility and BCLS are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or ARRT‑approved program.
• ARDMS/ARRT registry eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients of all age groups.
• Positions patient, selects protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Follows established imaging protocols for the exam being performed.
• Follows ACR and Piedmont guidelines.
• Provides quality age-specific care in accordance with standards.
• Provides patient education and communications per standards.
• Demonstrates continued quality improvement and proficiency in required skills.

Qualifications

Education

• an approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or an approved Sonography Program by the ARRT

• 1 year of experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• ARDMS/ARRT(s) registry eligible required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire required
• ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS), or ARDMS
