Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Sonographer to autonomously perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound across outpatient and inpatient settings, including abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and small parts exams.

The role involves assisting in complex procedures, interpreting images for preliminary diagnoses, and ensuring high-quality imaging with strict safety and QA practices. BLS is required within 90 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program and /or ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
• One year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Associate degree or above preferred.
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible in the areas of abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) and vascular technology (RVT).
• ARDMS registered in Abdomen, Obgyn, and RVT within 18 months of Mayo employment.
• Each certification should be achieved every 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously performs high quality, advanced diagnostic ultrasound imaging for outpatient and inpatient settings, including abdominal, vascular, abdominal vasculature, small parts, and OB/GYN exams.
• Assists in complex invasive procedures and intraoperative cases with a team approach.
• Interpretation of the sonogram to synthesize and communicate a preliminary clinical diagnosis to the physician.
• Identifies imaging orders for accuracy and tailors the exam to patient needs.
• Maintains sterile technique, safe practices, and procedural documentation.
