Job summary

Axia Women’s Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. You will review orders, prepare patients, perform OB/GYN ultrasound exams, and present findings to the physician team.

You will also maintain equipment, records, and EMR/PACS workflows in a fast-paced environment. The role requires formal ultrasound education and ARDMS OB/GYN certification, with 2+ years obstetric scanning experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Formal education and completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program is required.
• Current RDMS certification from ARDMS in Obstetrics/Gynaecology is required.
• At least 2 years’ experience performing obstetrical scanning is preferable.
• FMF or NTQR certification in NT is preferable.
• Additional ARDMS certifications in BR and AB are desirable.
• Additional ARDMS certification in FT is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review prior images and imaging reports before ultrasound exam.
• Review and verify physician orders.
• Prepare patients and position for each anatomical view.
• Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations per protocol.
• Present images and preliminary findings to physicians.
• Evaluate image quality and interpretation.
• Maintain patient records and medical notes.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and room sterility between patients.
• Utilize PACs, EMR and imaging systems.
• Stock supplies and replenish as required.
• Maintain certifications through compliance training and CE.
• Train other Ultrasound Technicians as needed.
• Perform other associated duties as assigned.

• Reviews any prior images and imaging reports prior to ultrasound exam.
• Reviews and verifies physician’s orders.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, explains procedures, measures and positions patients for each anatomical view.
• Performs high-quality ultrasound examinations in accordance with approved techniques and protocols, ensuring the transducer (probe) is correctly capturing images.
• Presents images and preliminary findings to physicians and healthcare team.
• Evaluates images for quality and interprets images captured.
• Maintains patient records; adds medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and sterilizes room between ultrasound patients.
• Utilizes PACs, EMR, and other systems related to imaging.
• Stocks and replenishes supplies as required.
• Maintains certifications by completing any assigned compliance and continuing education requirements.
• Trains other Ultrasound Technicians as needed.
• Performs other associated duties as assigned.

Qualities & Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to accurately document scan findings.
• Demonstrated thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Education & Experience:

• Formal education and completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program required.
• Current RDMS certification from ARDMS in Ob/Gyn required.
• At least 2 years’ recent experience performing obstetrical scanning preferable.
• Current FMF or NTQR certification in NT (Nuchal Translucency) preferable.
• Additional ARDMS certification in Breast (BR) and Abdomen (AB) desirable.
• Additional ARDMS certification and experience in Fetal Echocardiography (FT) desirable.
• eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience beneficial.
• Knowledge of specific order sets and related CPT coding a plus
