Job summary

Axia Women’s Health in Horsham, PA seeks a Per Diem MFM Sonographer to perform OB/GYN and perinatal ultrasound exams, including NT and growth scans, with ARDMS credentials. Flexible hours, per diem role, credentialing required.

Ideal candidate has at least 2 years of recent OB/GYN/perinatal experience, strong reporting skills, and proficiency with EMR systems. Per diem opportunities offer collaboration with Abington Perinatal team in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Formal education and completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program required.
• Current RDMS certification from ARDMS in Ob/Gyn required.
• At least 2 years’ recent experience performing OB/GYN and Perinatal ultrasounds including NT and comprehensive growth scans
• Additional ARDMS certification in Fetal Echocardiography (FT) desirable; Previous FE highly preferable.
• Additional ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB)
• Knowledge of CPT coding a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately recognize and document pathology identified in scans.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews any prior images and imaging reports prior to ultrasound exam.
• Reviews and verifies physician’s orders.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, explains procedures, measures and positions patients for each anatomical view.
• Performs high‑quality ultrasound examinations including comprehensive growth scans and Nuchal Translucency scans in accordance with approved techniques and protocols, ensuring the transducer (probe) is correctly capturing images.
• Evaluates images for quality and interprets images captured; calculates, compiles and records data from numerical readings and records in patient chart.
• Maintains patient records; adds medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
• Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and healthcare team.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and sterilizes room between ultrasound patients.
• Utilizes PACs, EMR, and other systems related to imaging.
• Stocks and replenishes supplies as required.
• Maintains certifications by completing any assigned compliance and continuing education requirements.
• Trains other Sonographers as needed.
• Performs other associated tasks as assigned.

We are currently recruiting for a Per Diem MFM Sonographer at Abington Perinatal in Horsham, PA.

Hours are flexible, as needed Monday through Friday.

Position Summary

A Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer is a diagnostic ultrasound professional who is qualified to perform independent sonographic assessments of maternal‑fetal conditions. A person in this role must be qualified by academic and clinical experience, along with professional credentialing which should include OB/GYN registry, as well as the nuchal translucency/nasal bone certification. Their responsibility is to provide diagnostic patient care services for routine and high‑risk obstetrical cases using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. A MFM sonographer must have advanced knowledge in various fetal conditions and anomalies as well as knowledge of contributing high‑risk maternal factors. In addition, the scope of practice of the diagnostic MFM sonographer includes those procedures, acts, and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience. This person must demonstrate competency and must hold the appropriate ARDMS certification(s), which is the standard of practice in ultrasound.
