Job summary

The Georgia Department of Labor is accepting applications to fill multiple UI Claims Examiner Associate- TLB positions in the Benefits Payment Control Unit. These are time limited positions, located at 148 Andrew Young International Blvd NE, Atlanta, GA 30303.

As a UI Claims Examiner Associate – TLB, you will review claims for overpayments, establish and investigate fraud or non-fraud overpayments, process wage audit notices, and support daily overpayment/fraud investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience working in the unemployment insurance benefits program.
• Two years of experience performing duties related to determining program eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Reviews unemployment insurance claims for overpayments.
• Establishes and investigates fraud and non-fraud overpayments.
• Processes Employer and Claimant Wage Audit Notices.
• Conducts fact-finding procedures on an overpayment to determine whether the overpayment was due to fraud.
• Processes payments received and prepares daily deposit.
• Reviews appeals that are remanded to the overpayment unit.
• Reviews New Hire information received.
• Identifies any issue(s) and determines the correct department(s) to address the issue(s).
• Performs daily clerical and follow-up tasks in support of overpayment/fraud investigation.
