Job summary

Amentum seeks an Aircraft Mechanic II (UH-60 Technical Inspector) to supervise inspections and oversee maintenance of UH-60 Black Hawk components and engines. You will evaluate repairs, assure safety standards, and participate in test flights as required.

The role requires five years of relevant experience, an FAA A&P license with IA clearance or equivalent, and the ability to lead technicians while ensuring compliance with technical manuals and directives. Fort Bliss, TX work location.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
• At least one year experience inspecting MDS aircraft assigned.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P). If no A&P, five years’ experience inspecting MDS airframes.
• Current FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) or five years’ experience inspecting MDS airframes.
• Completion of 15-series career management field Advanced Leadership Course (BNCOC/AMOC) or FAA A&P license.
• Must have Security Clearance appropriate to the level required for the work.
• Broad knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection techniques, FAA regulations, and technical publications.
• Knowledge of aircraft safety requirements and operation of portable firefighting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, conducts, and supervises aircraft technical inspections.
• Inspects and evaluates repairs and modifications to aircraft structures and engines.
• Inspects maintenance of aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
• Applies knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine malfunctions.
• Participates in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.
• Ensures compliance with configuration control, oil analysis program and calibration of test equipment.
• Guides lower-level technicians in inspection techniques and procedures.
• Contributes to quality control and ground safety programs.
• Inspects and verifies proper completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies.
• Leads small groups and provides oversight updates to program leadership.
• Performs other qualified duties as required.
