Job summary

Milton Hershey School seeks a U14 Baseball Head Coach for Middle School on a one-year ancillary basis. The role leads the program year-round to develop athletes and character, with a March–June season and 18 games. Practices are flexible, and off-season work is expected as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of coaching success, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds within a private, cost-free education environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful coaching experience with demonstrated success in establishing a highly competitive program, while also instilling high-quality character.
• Must have current knowledge of techniques, rules and regulations, and training theory of the sport.
• Demonstrated ability to lead & inspire diverse youth. Experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds, preferred.
• Demonstrated exceptional organizational and planning skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and lead a team of coaches.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate & influence in cross-functional settings.
• Ability to build a network to facilitate new and creative opportunities.
• Candidates must be eager to build the program & invest in student talent development year-round.
• Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Lead the U14 Baseball program for middle school year-round to develop students athletically and competitively, while instilling character.
• Season runs March through June with flexible practice hours and 18 scheduled games.
• Handle off-season work as needed to sustain program growth and talent development.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to support student-athlete growth and life skills.
