Teach For America is a national nonprofit offering a full-time, paid, two-year teaching opportunity in under-resourced public schools. Corps members teach full-time, build relationships with students and families, and gain leadership experience while shaping future opportunities for communities.

Start Date: Late Spring 2027. Applicants from all majors are encouraged; a pathway to teaching certification is provided after corps service.

Qualifications

• 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree (in any field of study).
• Must be a citizen, national, or legal resident of the United States, EAD holder, or have DACA status.
• No background in education or teaching certification required—candidates from all majors and experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach two years full-time in an under-resourced public school.
• Build genuine relationships with students and families beyond lesson plans.
• Learn to navigate barriers kids face inside and outside the classroom.
• Sharpen communication, problem-solving, and collaboration through daily classroom leadership.
• Work with the school community to remove obstacles and open doors for students.
