Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks an experienced Clinical Laboratory Manager to lead operations across two outpatient laboratory sites in Weymouth. This role focuses on operational excellence, staff development, and high-quality diagnostic services that support patient care.

You will guide a team of about 11 staff, oversee staffing, and partner with system-level laboratory leadership to standardize processes and improve service access and turnaround times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• ASCP MLS/MT certification.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory generalist experience.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a CLIA-regulated laboratory.
• Strong background in clinical chemistry and hematology.
• Demonstrated success leading teams in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment.
• Working knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Beaker experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with workflow or operational system use preferred.
• Experience with test validation, implementation, and process improvement.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, coach, and build trust across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee two ambulatory laboratory sites to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Develop and coach a high-performing laboratory team with clear expectations.
• Serve as primary operational leader for staffing, workflow, and service delivery needs.
• Partner with system leadership to standardize processes and improve turnaround times.
• Oversee quality and compliance activities and document laboratory operations.
• Ensure readiness in CLIA/CAP environments with a strong quality and safety culture.
• Support validation and onboarding of new tests, instruments, and workflows.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and staff experience.
