Job summary

Relativity Space, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for turbomachinery in Long Beach, CA. You will produce turbopump components for Aeon-R engines and own manufacturing trades, developing processes to fabricate, test, and deliver critical hardware.

You’ll coordinate with design teams to optimize architecture, solve complex issues, and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced, aviation-grade environment with high autonomy and impact.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related technical field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checks.
• Manufacturing Process Experience: Fluids Testing, Machining, Additive.
• Knowledge of general assembly and test procedures, including tolerance stack-up analysis, structural proof testing, and pressurized leak checks.
• Experience with Siemens NX or other CAD and analysis tools.
• Experience with Tooling design, including conceptualization, modeling and drafting, and detailed analysis.

Responsibilities

• Produce components and assemblies for the fuel and oxidizer turbopumps of the Aeon-R and Aeon-R Vac engines.
• Own the manufacturing trades and develop the processes for fabricating, testing, and delivering critical Aeon-R hardware and subassemblies.
• Serve as the main point-of-contact between the manufacturing and design teams to optimize Aeon-R architecture and scale manufacturing operations.
• Drive projects to completion in ambiguity and a fast-paced aerospace environment.
