Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a technical expert to advance turbine design for space propulsion. You will work with propulsion development and manufacturing teams to implement improvements into future engine designs, delivering reliable turbomachinery for the Terran R program.

The role suits someone who thrives in ambiguity, can drive projects to completion, and brings experience with turbine design, aerodynamic and structural analysis, plus turbomachinery knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related technical field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with turbine design, performing aerodynamic and structural analysis.
• Experience with LCF and HCF methodologies.
• Knowledge of turbomachinery design and analysis.
• Knowledge of turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with propulsion development and manufacturing teams to advance turbine design and incorporate improvements into future engine designs.
• Drive projects to completion in ambiguous, fast-paced aerospace environments.
• Work at the interfaces of design, development, and analysis of turbomachinery.
