Job summary

J T in Annapolis Junction, MD is seeking a Tier 2 Level 2 Systems Administrator to maintain health, security, and performance of server infrastructure and core applications in a secure environment. The role emphasizes advanced technical support, patch management, and strict security controls within a cross-functional IT team.

Responsibilities include system administration, configuration, security compliance, monitoring, and collaboration with other teams.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current Polygraph is strictly required.
• 15+ years of IT/systems administration experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• At least one IAT Level 1 compliant certification (e.g., A+ CE, Network+ CE).
• Experience administering Windows and Linux servers; strong security/tools knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, manage, and maintain enterprise servers, OS, and core applications.
• Apply patches and configuration changes per change management.
• Provide Tier 2 support for escalated issues; diagnose complex incidents.
• Install, configure, deploy systems; assist with upgrades and data migrations.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and standards; support audits.
• Prepare routine system health and performance reports for leadership.
• Collaborate with network, security, and help desk teams to improve IT processes.
