Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Journeyman System Administrator for a DISA contract, based primarily on-site at Ft Meade, MD. The role focuses on supporting JWICS environments with mid-level VDI expertise and active security clearances.

The candidate will work with Tier III support, lead enclave standups, and ensure robust documentation and security practices, while coordinating with development partners to meet evolving needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years in Windows/Linux server environments
• Experience with VMware and VDI environments
• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI
• DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II (e.g., Security+ CE)

Responsibilities

• Provide mid-level skillset for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
• Support ticket escalation on major outages.
• Work in rapid-paced environments as needed.
• Collaborate with development partners to align on emerging needs and tech advances.
• Lead onboarding and standup of new enclaves/environments.
• Interact with Tier III support and evaluate vendor products.
• Develop and monitor policies for computing resource allocation.
• Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and SOPs.
• Apply security settings and other best practices.
• Coach and review work of junior staff.
