Job summary
Leidos is seeking a Journeyman System Administrator on a DISA contract, primarily at Ft. Meade, MD, supporting JWICS systems.
The role requires implementing VDI solutions, monitoring outages, and collaborating with development partners to align on emerging needs and security practices. The ideal candidate has a strong Windows/Linux/Solaris server background, extensive VMware/VDI experience, and holds a Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility, plus DoD 8570 IAT II certification.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of overall related experience with Windows/Linux server environments.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, and Solaris Server, with expertise in at least one.
- Extensive VMware and VDI experience.
- Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
- DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II (e.g., Security+ CE).
Responsibilities
- Provide mid-level skillset for VDI environment.
- Support ticket escalation on major outages.
- Work in rapid-paced environments as needed.
- Lead onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments.
- Interact with Tier III support and evaluate vendor products.
- Develop and monitor policies for allocation of computing resources.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation and SOPs.
- Apply security settings and best practices.
- Coach and review junior staff.
